A Love Like Pi

Christopher LoPorto

Bio

Serving up a mix of fiery rock, electronic pop, and high-concept songs, A Love Like Pi formed in Red Bank, NJ. Originally going under the name Blind and Driving, the band consists of singer/songwriter/violinist/keyboardist Lief Liebmann, bassist Collin Boyle, and drummer Christopher LoPorto. A Love Like Pi were initially conceived as a film scoring project, but as the trio members played together they realized they were more of a performing band, and Liebmann added lyrics partially inspired by his upbringing as the child of two pastors. After a couple of years performing as Blind and Driving, the band switched to the name A Love Like Pi, inspired by the number's endlessness and the obsession surrounding it.

An energetic live show made a name for the band along the East Coast and at festivals like Bamboozle and South by Southwest, and A Love Like Pi signed with Thriving Records. They teamed up with producers Kenny and Shep for their debut album, The Atlas and the Oyster, which was released in spring 2009. All Music Guide
